How to Attach Files to AOL E-mail Open a new e-mail. Click on the Attachments button in the lower left corner of the message window. Click on the Attach button. Select a file to attach. Click the Open button. The file selected is now displayed in the Attachments window. Click the OK button. The selected file is now attached to the e-mail message. It is displayed in the lower portion of the window to the right of the Attachments button. Fill in your e-mail message as usual and send. There! That wasn't too difficult was it? But, the tricky part is the file size. If your graphics or text files are too large they may not make the trip through the byte lines.
