NOTICE TOM FANS! I just now heard that Tom will be on Regis and Kelly tomorrow morning, July 19th!

Currently A&E shows Magnum P.I. at 8 a.m. Pacific, 9 mountain, 10 central and 11 a.m. Eastern! Also again at 2,3,4, and 5, respectively! Yippee!

Question for Tom's fans: Because of this website I get a lot of great e-mail messages from some of you great TS fans! Most of the time you have simple questions I can answer, but every once in a while there is one that I don't know! Just the other day a fan out in the Midwest asked me if I knew if Tom had done any print ads for Salem cigarettes. This would have been about 1977 or thereabouts. Anyone know? Please send me the answer to elizabeth@speedcat.com!

A: I have an answer! Yes, he did do Salem ads! They airbrushed his eyes! Thanks Gail! Update, I've recently received an e-mail saying it was Winston in 1978!

Now, we could really solve this conundrum if someone somewhere could actually come up with a copy of the ad! So, this is your assignment, go to flea markets, thrift shops, and yard sales looking for old magazines from about 1978 and look for the ads! He may be sans mustache! So look carefully!

Speaking of his early work, did anyone happen to see TVLand's showing of Charlie's Angels? He was a doctor/love interest on one of them! He was seeing the Jaclyn Smith character I believe! He was sans moustache!

I absolutely love Tom's movies. They're fun and entertaining and make me smile! And isn't that what it is all about?

Tom Selleck celebrates his birthday on January 29th. He was born in 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. (Hence the Detroit Tigers baseball cap in P.I.) He's a magnificent 6' 4", and has two brothers, Robert and Dan. I believe his first, or at least earliest, movie was a horror film called Satan's Daughter.

Magnum, P.I., was created by Donald P. Bellisario and Glen A. Larson. The famous, well-known, Magnum theme was written by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter. However, it was not developed until several shows after the debut. The orignal music had no personality to it. (My opinion.) Magnum premiered December 11, 1980 (a day-late birthday present to me!) in the 8:00p.m. timeslot on CBS. The last show aired May 1, 1988 and there were a total of 162 episodes. I hope to some day add a year-by- year, episode-by-episode listing of the shows. Please don't hold your breath however.

Tom has made a lot of films. Some have not been given much merit by critics. But, what do they know? (Have you heard the saying - Those who can't do, teach? - Well, I say those who can't teach or do, become movie critics!) I've enjoyed his films a lot! And that is what counts.

A few years ago I just happened to be at Disneyland on the day they opened Toontown for the stars! Whenever they announce a "Press Day" really read it as "Star Day". That day there were a lot of stars there, Sally Field, and Whoopi Goldberg were also there. They had a parade of stars going down Main Street in old cars. I was sitting on the sidewalk of Main Street and there was a bit of a lag in the parade. I was going to get up when a Disneyland security guard happened to walk by. I and another woman asked her if the parade was over. An innocent enough question, so I thought! The security guard looked around and then said to us "well, I can't say it is positively, but, I think you should stick around!" So we asked her who else was coming around the corner. She said she couldn't name any names, but she thought we would be quite pleased if we stayed! So, we stayed! And that is how I came to have my very own pictures of my dear Tom Selleck! Enjoy!
